Who We Are
Our Mission
To educate, inspire, and connect the people of Northwest Florida through the power of public media.
Emerald Coast PBS is the newest PBS affiliate station in the United States, proudly serving the communities of Pensacola, Fort Walton Beach, Destin, and Panama City. We are a nonprofit, community-supported public broadcaster committed to providing free, high-quality programming to every household in our region — regardless of income or background.
What Drives Us
We uphold the highest standards of public broadcasting — fact-based, independent, and free from commercial influence.
Every decision we make is guided by the needs of the Northwest Florida community we are privileged to serve.
From toddlers to seniors, we believe quality educational content should be freely accessible to every person in our region.
We are funded by viewers like you. Your membership and donations keep us independent, accountable, and on the air.
Our Journey
Community leaders and media advocates in Northwest Florida recognize the need for a local PBS affiliate — a trusted, commercial-free voice for the Gulf Coast.
Emerald Coast PBS officially becomes a PBS affiliate, bringing the full PBS programming lineup — from NewsHour to Sesame Street — to Northwest Florida viewers.
With the support of the community, broadcast operations will launch across the communities we serve, including Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa counties and other communities in the region.
Emerald Coast PBS has plans to expand digital streaming, launch community education partnerships, and begin producing original local content reflecting Gulf Coast stories.
With a growing membership base and strong community support, Emerald Coast PBS continues to invest in children's education, lifelong learning, arts and culture, local history, public affairs programming, and community engagement that enriches the Gulf Coast region.
